Celebrating Innovation and Business Development
Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at FAU provides business consulting in the South Florida region and one of the locations is at the Research Park at FAU, which recently held the 2023 annual Awards and Celebration of Entrepreneurship at the Boca West Country Club.
The Research Park at FAU, along with friends and stakeholders — approximately 200 leaders from the business, academic and governmental fields — gather annually to celebrate the achievements of the entrepreneurs and innovators who strengthen the Research Park community relationships and share ideas for the future.
"We join the Research Park at FAU to congratulate all the distinguished awardees on their contributions to our regional development," said Sandra Marin Ruiz, Ed.D., regional director Florida SBDC at FAU. "It was a great time to celebrate everyone's accomplishments."

Inspiring New Entrepreneurs
Jacqueline Ramirez, business consultant with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at FAU, was a speaker at the Entrepreneur Summit Plenary Session: Business Resources in Broward, hosted by the Hispanic Unity of Florida (HUF).
HUF was originally founded in 1982 by community leaders to guide newcomers to the U.S. on their journey and to ease the acculturation process. With 12 programs and more than 30 services offered in four languages, this agency is Broward County’s largest nonprofit dedicated to the immigrant population.
"It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to share all that the SBDC at FAU has to offer entrepreneurs. Thank you HUF for a wonderful event," Ramirez said, who has more than 25 years of experience in an organizational redesign, team design and leadership development.
Other panelists included: Maribel Feliciano and Sandy McDonald, Broward County Office of Economic and Small Business Development, Marylena Martinez Rivas, SCORE Broward and Augusto Sanabria, Prospera.
